De Beers’ Rough Sales Fall Sharply in 6th Sales Cycle

De Beers has reported a provisional figure of $410 million for the value of rough diamond sales during the 6th sales cycle of the year, according to Mining Weekly.

This figure represents a fall of $46 million compared to the actual sales figure of $456 million in the 5th sales cycle. It is also lower by $228 million compared to the 6th cycle of 2022 (which had recorded sales of $638 million).

De Beers CEO, Al Cook, said: “In line with seasonal trends, rough diamond sales continued at a lower level during the sixth sales cycle of the year. Participants in the diamond industry’s midstream sector continue to take a cautious approach to purchases in light of ongoing macroeconomic challenges.”
