Glastonbury, Connecticut – On July 27, Baribault Jewelers will give away a lab-grown diamond to a soon-to-be engaged couple.
The Connecticut retailer said the 2-carat colourless diamond is a “B Lab” diamond – the brand name Baribault gives to the lab-grown diamonds it sells in its store – and is valued at $6,000.
When asked about the valuation of the lab-grown diamond in light of recent price declines in the category, Baribault Jewelers stood by the $6,000 figure, stating that it “only sells the highest quality lab-grown diamonds that are GIA certified, E [colour] VS [clarity], [grown] using the CVD process and cut to perfection”.
The lab-grown diamond featured in the giveaway currently retails for $5,500 plus tax in the store.
To be eligible for the giveaway, couples must follow Baribault Jeweler’s Instagram page and do the following:
– Schedule and attend a complimentary in-store bridal appointment between now and 26 July;
– Complete an official in-store sweepstakes entry;
– Attend the announcement of the winning couple on Instagram on 27 July at 11am.
“When you finally find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, there’s a lot of planning to do before you walk down the aisle, especially shopping for an engagement ring that fits your budget,” said Lewis Baribault Jr, co-owner of Baribault Jewelers.
We want to make that process easier by offering one of the most luxurious trends in bridal jewellery today – a lab-grown diamond set as an engagement ring.”The giveaway is part of the jeweller’s ongoing 75th anniversary celebrations.
“We attribute our success over the past 75 years to the welcoming and thriving community that has supported us, and the 2-carat lab diamond giveaway is just another extension of our extreme gratitude,” said Baribault.
The giveaway also marks the launch of the Glastonbury store’s new B Bridal ‘Engaged Couples Experience’, which recently debuted for couples shopping for engagement rings together.
“According to a recent survey in Brides magazine, 62 per cent of couples now go engagement ring shopping together, rather than one person doing it alone,” said Baribault.
“Our ‘Engaged Couples Experience’ is designed to cater to this current trend, pamper the couple and take the stress out of finding the perfect ring.”
The Engaged Couples Experience consists of a champagne toast, a consultation to discuss ring type, style and budget, a 10 per cent discount on wedding bands and a separate consultation with the groom to plan a proposal with creative input from the team.
