Picayune, Mississippi – After 54 years in business, Rushing Jewelers in Picayune, Mississippi is closing its doors due to the retirement of the store’s owners.
Charles Rushing opened the jewellery store with his son James Rushing in 1969. The two learned to make and repair jewellery through hard work and dedication to the craft.
James, better known to everyone as Jim, and his wife, Dianna Rushing, later took over the business and turned it into a “community staple” in Picayune.
Retiring owners James and Dianna say they are proud to have created a warm and welcoming jewellery store.
As they prepare to retire, the Rushings will be holding a final sale.
Over the next few weeks, diamond necklaces, bracelets, earrings, gemstones, men’s jewellery, wedding bands, engagement rings, bridal sets and watches will be available at up to 70 per cent off.
The couple are honoured to have served generations of family and friends and will look back on the memories with fondness, they said.Of all the special moments they’ve shared with the store’s customers, the most memorable will be the many times Jim has heard “that’s perfect” after presenting a custom piece he’s created.
With retirement just around the corner, Jim and Dianna said they look back on their legacy with gratitude and pride, thanking God for the years he has given them and looking forward to what the future holds.
