The cushion modified brilliant-cut gem flanked by pear-shaped yellow diamonds is expected to fetch between $400,000 and $500,000 on 25 October in New Jersey, the auction house said on Tuesday. Online bidding is open.
The sale of more than 300 lots features diamonds, coloured gemstones and signed jewels from prestigious jewellery houses, creations by contemporary jewellery artists and a historically significant collection of intaglio prints.

A yellow gold ring centred on a 12.58 carat Colombian emerald with “minor traditional clarity enhancement”, according to the auction house. The emerald-shaped gem, flanked by triangular diamonds, carries an estimate of $90,000 to $140,000.
An 18-carat yellow gold and platinum ring by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. featuring a rectangular-cut emerald framed by pavé-cut round brilliant-cut diamond petals. It is expected to fetch between $15,000 and $20,000.
There are several jewellery designs by the Native American team of Gail Bird (Pueblo) and Yazzie Johnson (Navajo). These are led by a gem-set silver and leather belt dated 1989. The materials used to create this piece include 10 conchos set with coral, Owyhee jasper, Montana agate and polka dot jasper, and a belt buckle set with jasper. Estimated at $15,000 to $20,000.
There are at least nine pieces of jewellery by Philadelphia-based contemporary jewellery artist Michael Manthey. The top lot in this group is the Totem silver and yellow gold pendant, circa 1998, set with titanium quartz, cabochon labradorite, watermelon tourmaline and slate. It is expected to fetch $2,500 to $3,500.
