Lafayette, La.— In a strategic move towards fostering sustainability and ethical mining practices, Stuller has initiated the distribution of platinum grain to its clientele, sourced from the renowned mining entity, Anglo American, and officially certified as responsibly mined.
Emphasizing their commitment to not only provide unparalleled access to platinum within the U.S. jewelry sector but also to contribute to a socially and environmentally conscious future, Belit Myers, Chief Operating Officer at Stuller, expressed the company’s dedication to responsible sourcing.
Stuller has underscored that the platinum supplied by Anglo American adheres strictly to the guidelines set forth by the London Platinum and Palladium Market’s (LPPM) Responsible Platinum/Palladium Guidance. The LPPM, in its pursuit of ethical practices, introduced the Responsible Sourcing Programme in January 2019.
Under this program, every member listed in the Good Delivery and Sponge Accreditation Lists is mandated to furnish an annual report detailing the measures taken to comply with the guidance. The guidelines delineate the due diligence practices imperative for mining companies or refiners, focusing on preventing human rights abuses, avoiding contributions to conflicts, adhering to anti-money laundering regulations, and thwarting the financing of terrorist activities.
