New York—The Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) is set to recognize exemplary individuals at its forthcoming annual luncheon, a prestigious event held at the esteemed New York Yacht Club.
Among the distinguished honorees is Peter Montalbano, esteemed founder of New York-based jewelry claims adjustment firm, Peter Montalbano Adjustors Inc., who will be bestowed with JSA’s esteemed 19th annual Industry Service Award.
Renowned for his unparalleled expertise and unwavering dedication, Montalbano has traversed the globe, investigating countless high-stakes cases for major insurance carriers, involving multimillion-dollar claims. His contributions extend beyond mere claims adjustment, as he has conducted comprehensive security surveys for leading jewelry firms and insurance companies, identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities. Over the span of three decades, Montalbano has been a steadfast ally of JSA, lending his expertise at conferences, offering invaluable advice, and facilitating speaking engagements at Lloyd’s in London for JSA personnel.
Reflecting on Montalbano’s outstanding achievements, JSA President John Kennedy, who recently announced his retirement, remarked, “Peter is the epitome of excellence in jewelry claims adjustment. His extensive experience and unwavering commitment have significantly enhanced the safety and security of the jewelry industry.”
In addition to honoring Montalbano, JSA will present the esteemed James B. White Law Enforcement Awards to five officers from Nassau County, New York, in recognition of their exceptional contributions to law enforcement within the jewelry sector. The recipients include Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Raymond, along with detectives Jesus Bonilla, Edward J. Hoctor, Jeffrey Rios, and Damiel Suarez, all of whom serve in the department’s Major Case Bureau.
Recognized for their exemplary record of investigations and arrests in major jewelry burglaries, these officers have demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, employing a variety of investigative techniques to combat crime and ensure the safety of the jewelry community. Their collaborative efforts with other jurisdictions have yielded significant results, resulting in numerous arrests and the recovery of stolen merchandise.
The JSA luncheon promises to be a highlight amid a bustling calendar of industry events in New York City, including the Jewelers Vigilance Committee’s annual luncheon and the prestigious Gem Awards on Friday, as well as the 24 Karat Club of New York’s gala on Saturday evening.
