NEW YORK, May 10, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Lightbox announced today a significant reduction in the retail prices of its lab-grown diamonds, offering consumers a compelling deal.
The brand’s colorless DEF stones, renowned for their excellent cut and VS clarity, are now priced at $900 per carat, marking a 40% reduction from their previous $1,500. Additionally, the price of lab-grown IJ color stones has been slashed by 37.5% from $800 to $500 per carat, while GH color stones are now priced at $600 per carat, reflecting a 25% reduction.
This move comes in response to the evolving dynamics of the lab-grown diamond jewelry industry and Lightbox’s steadfast commitment to delivering transparent and competitive pricing for its high-quality lab-grown diamonds, all of which are produced using 100% renewable energy.
To further enhance value and confidence for buyers, Lightbox, which launched in 2018, will now offer independent verification of all its lab-grown diamonds through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Established in 1931, GIA is globally recognized for its standards and quality in gemology.
CEO Antoine Borde expressed, “Lightbox pioneered the lab-grown diamond jewelry sector six years ago with its $800 per carat linear pricing. Today, we are delighted to introduce even lower prices that align closely with current jewelry industry dynamics. Moreover, we are proud to collaborate with the GIA to verify the quality and consistency of our stones, enhancing purchase confidence and enabling us to uphold our mission of providing clarity, transparency, and value to our customers.”
The quality verification process with GIA involves independent third-party assessment of Lightbox laboratory-grown diamonds through a random sampling process. Beginning with its DEF white round brilliant loose stones, a statistically significant sample from each production run will undergo grading to ensure compliance with GIA’s rigorous quality criteria for color, clarity, and cut. This verification enables the entire batch to be certified and marketed as Lightbox stones.
Each loose stone purchase will come with a downloadable GIA quality verification card, offering additional assurance that the lab-grown diamond has met Lightbox’s exacting quality standards. The stones will continue to bear the Lightbox inscription, invisible to the naked eye, signifying their status as Lightbox laboratory-grown diamonds.
