Philadelphia— Steven Lagos, founder and creative director of the renowned Lagos jewelry brand, introduces an innovative men’s collection, marking a significant milestone for the brand in its 47th year. Traditionally known for its chunky, unisex designs, Lagos has ventured into a dedicated men’s line for the first time, inspired by a growing trend of men purchasing his jewelry.
“There seems to be more freedom in fashion right now,” says Lagos. “I love to see it, and wanted to offer styles designed especially with men in mind.”
Drawing inspiration from both music and aesthetics, the new Lagos collection, aptly named Anthem, pays homage to the Grateful Dead’s album Anthem of the Sun, known for its eclectic sound-collage style. “I loved the idea of mixing chunky textures with whimsical elements and unique craftsmanship details,” explains Lagos.
The Anthem collection features Roman-influenced pendants, such as helmets crafted in sterling silver with 18-karat gold and tiger-iron accents. Additionally, it offers a fresh take on the brand’s iconic Caviar bracelet, now with a skull motif subtly incorporated into the design. The collection spans a range of styles, from rocker-inspired single earrings shaped like daggers and skulls to more understated pieces like black ceramic Apple Watch bands and braided macramé bracelets.
The standout piece of the collection is a statement ring showcasing an edgy rabbit carved from black agate, accompanied by silver-and-gold-tinged carrots arranged like crossbones. This distinctive mascot, named Krunch, embodies resilience and luck. “He has overcome hardship, time and time again, due to his fortitude and luck,” says Lagos, highlighting the symbolic connection as “lagos” translates to “hare” in Greek.
With this new men’s line, Lagos blends bold design with refined craftsmanship, offering a versatile range that captures the spirit of modern fashion and individual expression.
