This collaboration, announced during Geneva Watch Days, marks the 70th anniversary of the Fender Stratocaster and results in a striking timepiece that blends the worlds of luxury horology and classic rock ‘n’ roll.
The exclusive Aluminium GMT watch is a tribute to the Stratocaster’s iconic design, featuring a color palette reminiscent of the guitar’s original hues. With only 1,200 pieces available, this limited edition is a must-have for collectors and aficionados alike. To further commemorate this milestone, Bulgari is releasing 140 special anniversary sets, each paired with one of 70 custom Fender Stratocaster guitars, creating a unique offering for those passionate about both watches and guitars.
The Bulgari Aluminium series, known for its distinctive style, made a strong comeback in 2020 at Geneva Watch Days. Originally launched in 1998, the Bulgari Aluminium was considered unconventional for its time, combining a black rubber strap with a lightweight aluminum case and a bold double Bulgari logo on the rubber bezel. This new limited edition continues the tradition of bold design, now infused with the classic Fender Stratocaster colors. The dial features a rich brown gradient, complemented by a creamy white and dark brown 24-hour GMT scale, adding a touch of vintage elegance to the modern timepiece.
The Aluminium GMT X Fender is housed in a 40mm aluminum case, measuring just 9.7mm in height and offering 100 meters of water resistance. The watch’s crown and caseback are crafted from black DLC-coated titanium, which, combined with the aluminum, ensures an exceptionally lightweight feel. The design is finished with a rubber strap featuring a Velcro fastening, adding a practical yet stylish touch. Inside, the watch is powered by the BVL caliber 192, which is based on the classic Sellita SW 330. This automatic movement allows the GMT hand to be adjusted in one-hour increments, making it perfect for frequent travelers.
