The auction also showcased a coveted Hermès Ebene Clemence Birkin 42 shoulder bag, which sold for $8,610. This iconic handbag featured palladium-plated hardware and came with its original box and accessories. Cynthia Maciejewski, manager at Neue Auctions, remarked on the unique nature of this auction: “This was a different sale for us, as we usually handle antiques and older works of art. We’re hoping to receive more auction consignments like this in the future.” The event attracted a diverse group of bidders from around the globe, with 71% being first-time participants at Neue Auctions.
Additional highlights included a stunning Cartier Panthère de Cartier ring that sold for $5,658 and a Cartier ‘Juste Un Clou’ bangle bracelet that fetched $4,305. The auction also featured unexpected sleeper lots such as an assortment of Tiffany & Co. charms that exceeded their estimate by selling for $1,599.
