Founded by Laura Chavez, a former economics and MBA graduate turned jewelry designer, Lark & Berry is reshaping the luxury jewelry landscape by combining sustainability with timeless elegance.
Since opening in 2018, Lark & Berry has gained global recognition for its beautiful and ethically crafted pieces, worn by celebrities including Taylor Swift, Kate Beckinsale, and Kylie Minogue. Now, the brand’s first U.S. store offers an array of dazzling diamond designs, including engagement rings, earrings, necklaces, and custom creations— all featuring lab-grown diamonds and gemstones. The boutique also offers jewelry repairs, ear piercing, and personalized design services.
For Chavez, the journey into jewelry design was an unexpected but natural transition. During her MBA studies at London Business School, Chavez discovered the world of lab-grown diamonds. Fascinated by their environmental benefits and ethical appeal, she saw an opportunity to challenge the traditional diamond industry and create a line of fine jewelry that was both innovative and sustainable.
“We are proud to be part of the shift toward sustainable luxury,” says Chavez. “Lark & Berry is about more than just jewelry; it’s about changing the industry for the better. Luxury should be about self-expression, not just status.”
The Houston boutique offers a range of stunning designs from everyday wear to bold statement pieces, blending modern and classic elements. Chavez’s designs are inspired by art, nature, and architecture, making each piece feel unique and personal.
In her email interview with PaperCity, Chavez reflected on the balance between creativity and business. “Running Lark & Berry is a constant mix of creativity and strategy. I’m deeply involved in the design process, but also focused on growing the business and educating consumers on the benefits of lab-grown diamonds,” she shares. “I wanted to create pieces that push boundaries, stand out, and redefine luxury jewelry.”
