The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) proudly announces the 25th edition of MAD About Jewelry, taking place from May 3 to May 7. This milestone exhibition will feature 50 contemporary jewelry artists from 23 countries, showcasing unique and innovative designs that push the boundaries of jewelry-making.
The event begins with an exclusive Opening Benefit Brunch on May 3, where guests will preview this year’s collection and honor jewelry expert Frank Everett, Vice Chairman for Jewelry at Sotheby’s. Proceeds from the event will support MAD’s mission to promote art and design.
Jewelry enthusiasts will experience an array of breathtaking pieces, from Xinyi Chen’s “Artificial Intelligems,” crafted from electronic waste, to Valeria Molinari’s backgammon-inspired resin and Murano glass creations. Cano Jewelry’s pre-Colombian-inspired designs and Joana Correia’s organic, nature-infused collections also take center stage.
The exhibition highlights both traditional craftsmanship and bold new techniques, including Yuka Taniai’s ethereal acrylic and metal designs.
This year’s Acquisition Prize will allow one artist’s work to enter MAD’s permanent collection, underscoring the Museum’s dedication to preserving and celebrating groundbreaking jewelry design.
