Hermès’ new high jewellery collection, Les Formes de la Couleur, reimagines colour through the lens of art and geometry. Under Pierre Hardy’s direction, this groundbreaking collection transforms abstract hues into tangible, wearable creations.
Hardy states, “I wanted to express this fundamental phenomenon and create something with a distinct identity.”
Inspired by Kandinsky’s theory that colours connect to shapes, Hardy creates jewellery that pairs shades with geometric forms. Red takes the square, blue the circle, and green becomes a brushstroke of tsavorite garnets.
Each piece brings colour to life with intricate designs, including a red square of garnets and a brilliant blue sapphire surrounded by chalcedony.
In Arc en Couleurs, soft gemstone palettes flow into flexible, mesh designs that gently complement the body. These understated pieces, with up to 1,400 stones, create a delicate and seamless colour gradient, enhancing natural beauty with grace and fluidity.
Supracolour explores the diffraction of light, embodied in a one-of-a-kind necklace featuring a rutilated quartz centre and an array of coloured stones.
This chapter pushes the boundaries of jewellery design, offering a daring and vibrant interpretation of colour through gemstones.
With Les Formes de la Couleur, Hermès pushes the limits of jewellery design, offering pieces that blend art, colour, and craftsmanship into wearable masterpieces.
