Anglo American PLC has revealed a decline in the value of rough diamond sales within its renowned De Beers division during the seventh sales cycle of 2023.
Covering the period from 14 August to 29 August, the London-headquartered mining conglomerate disclosed that the rough diamond sales within the De Beers arm experienced a notable 10% drop, amounting to USD 370 million. This is in contrast to the USD 411 million achieved in the previous sixth sales cycle of 2023.
Comparatively, these figures depict a substantial 42% decrease when juxtaposed against the USD 638 million garnered during the seventh sales cycle of 2022.
It’s important to note that the figures disclosed for the seventh sales cycle of 2023 remain provisional in nature, pending any adjustments that may arise based on the finalization of completed sales.
