MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police are searching for a man who allegedly stole 12 diamond rings from a jewellery store.
On Thursday, 17 August 2023, at approximately 5:00 pm, the theft occurred at Mufasa Memphis Jeweler on Getwell Road.
Officers were advised that a male entered the store to inquire about some jewellery.
The male pretended to leave the store by opening the door, setting off the door alarm, but hid inside the store.
While the complainant was distracted, the man stole a tray of rings. During an inventory check, it was discovered that several rings were missing.
CCTV footage showed the man slowly walking towards the display case, reaching over it and opening the door.
The man is seen removing a tray containing 12 diamond rings, placing the tray of rings in his trousers and walking out of the store.
The suspect is described as a male, with twisted hair, 27-37 years old, 5′8″-6′2″, 150-180lbs, wearing a black muscle shirt, dark jeans and black and white shoes.
No arrests have been made at this time and this is an ongoing investigation.
