Taylor Swift appeared to have broken the $12,000 vintage ring she wore to the MTV VMAs – and video captured the moment an entire search party gathered in hopes of recovering the missing piece.
It’s unclear exactly what happened, but the video shows a mortified Taylor holding up the vintage accessory – with the massive diamond missing from the centre of the ring.This prompted several guests, VMA staff and Taylor, 33, herself to scour the area in the hope of finding the gem.
The results of their efforts remain unknown, but sadly for Taylor, she was not pictured wearing the ring for the rest of the night.Expensive! They took to their Instagram to share a photo of Taylor with her broken ring, along with the supportive caption, ‘We are still forever Swifties! (laughing crying emoji)’.
Fiasco aside, it was an incredible night for Taylor overall.
The singer made history by winning nine of the 11 categories for which she was nominated – including artist of the year – at the annual event, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.Taylor won Album of the Year for Midnights and Show of the Summer, as well as six awards for the video and track for Anti-Hero.
