Boston – Hearts on Fire has appointed jewellery designer Yunjo Lee as its new Chief Creative Officer.
Lee brings more than two decades of design experience to Hearts on Fire, having previously designed collections with Paloma Picasso and Frank Gehry for Tiffany and Co.
Prior to joining Hearts on Fire, Lee was director of jewellery design at direct-to-consumer jewellery brand Mejuri, where she oversaw women’s and men’s jewellery and collaborated with fashion designer Jenna Lyons and Luar founder Raul Lopez.
In her new role, Lee will lead Hearts on Fire’s creative strategy and product development, as well as “evolve the brand’s design studio”.
The company said Lee’s hiring is part of its strategic transformation plan to strengthen its position in fine jewellery.
Lee will report to Rita Maltez, global president of Hearts on Fire.
Maltez said: “Hearts On Fire is transforming into a new kind of brand. We are building on our legacy of quality and craftsmanship while embracing the future with modernity and openness.
“I am excited about what Yunjo brings to Hearts On Fire at this important juncture. Her passion for her craft, her strong track record and her sensibilities are exactly what we need. I’m delighted to have her as part of the Hearts On Fire team and can’t wait to see her creations”.
Lee said, “I am deeply attracted to Hearts On Fire’s vision to bring a fresh perspective to the fine jewellery category. The brand operates at the intersection of quality and creativity.
“This is what excited me about joining the brand – the ability to create aspirational yet wearable pieces. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the brand and bring this vision to life”.
Last year, Hearts on Fire revamped its sales team and created the new role of Head of Product Management.
