Columbia Gem House launches jewellery raffle for wildlife fundraiser

Vancouver, Wash.-Columbia Gem House’s Jewellery for Wildlife fundraiser takes the form of a raffle this year. Nine designers have donated $2,500 worth of jewellery to the event.

The mining company is raising money for CRRIFS, a non-profit organisation that supports the rescue, rehabilitation and research of wildlife along the Sonoran coast of Mexico. Its mission is to support the protection and conservation of the country’s native wildlife.

All raffle ticket sales will be donated to help CRRIFS reach its 2024 goal of building a sea turtle rehabilitation saltwater tank.As last year, the miner is holding its fundraiser in conjunction with the 2023 MJSA Responsibly Sourced Design Challenge, an annual competition in which designers are given a fictional story to incorporate into a custom jewellery design.

The jewellery in this year’s raffle was designed by the following contestants:
Amelia Mickelsen of Amelia Ray Jewellery;

Andres Cardenas-Whorton of Nobles Metales;

Claudia Gutsch of Goldammer Jewellery;

Hannah Smythe of Toast Fine Jewellery;

Kindred Lubeck of Jewels by Lubeck;

Liz Stefany of Carrabassett Valley Jewellery;

Megan Cochran of Megan Cochran Jewellery;

Olivia Shih of Olivia Shih Designs;

Stephanie Maslow Blackman of Metalicious Jewellery

Columbia Gem House donated the gemstones used in the designs.

This year’s offerings include “grape” garnet, neon green beryl, tourmaline, and Cortez pearls – a special addition because CRRIFS’ programs help support native wildlife that depend on the same ecosystem as Cortez pearl oysters.

Only 100 tickets are available for each piece of jewellery. Tickets cost $25 and there is no purchase limit. Buyers can view the jewellery and purchase tickets on the Columbia Gem House website.

Ticket sales began on Sunday and will continue until 31 October or until all tickets are sold.

The competition is open to buyers worldwide, but some exclusions apply due to shipping restrictions.

Winners will be selected at random and notified by email by 7 November. Winners must respond with a delivery address within 48 hours or the item will go to the next randomly selected winner.
