Neenah, Wisconsin – With losses from cybercrime on the rise, Jewelers Mutual Group wants to help jewellers protect themselves and their businesses.
The insurer has added new cyber training courses to its online Safety and Security Academy.
The online training centre was launched earlier this year in partnership with the Jewelers’ Security Alliance and UL Solutions.
The courses, which were created in time for Cybersecurity Awareness Month, are free to members of the jewellery industry.
Designed for jewellery business owners and their staff, the courses provide helpful tips on how to protect digital assets and customer data.
Topics include how to create a “security conscious” culture, responding to ransomware attacks and implementing employee controls.
“Education is the first line of defence against cybercrime,” said Grant Hansen, Jewelers Mutual’s chief information security officer.
“In today’s evolving digital landscape, every jewellery business owner and their employees need to regularly brush up on cybersecurity best practices to stay vigilant and take preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of becoming a target.”
