On Monday, the price of 24 carat gold in Pakistan shot up to Rs202,000 per tola. Those interested in 22-carat gold could buy it at Rs186,083 per tola.
For individuals looking to buy smaller quantities, the prices remain equally attractive. Currently, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is priced at Rs174,040, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold can be purchased for Rs159,536.
Gold, like the dollar, has reportedly become more affordable during the caretaker government’s tenure. During this period, the cost of 24 carat gold per tola has come down significantly to Rs202,000 from the earlier price of Rs222,000.
As a result, 10 grams of gold is now available at Rs 173,182, according to local gold dealers, a significant reduction in cost. This shift in gold prices is primarily due to a significant fall in the value of the dollar.
Conversely, while gold prices in the international market rose to $24 per ounce, or $1,938, the local market in Pakistan witnessed an opposite trend.
It’s important to note that gold rates in Pakistan can change several times a day in response to global market dynamics.
These rates are sourced from reputable dealers, mainly based in Karachi and Multan.
