Police are investigating after burglars smashed through the front of an Aventura jewellery store Thursday morning.
The incident happened around 6:15 a.m. at the Jewelry Exchange at 19275 Biscayne Boulevard.
The store’s head of security said three suspects backed a stolen flatbed truck into the store and tried to pull out a safe, but set off the alarm.
Aventura police officials said officers responded quickly to the store and helped thwart the would-be thieves.
“The suspects made off with absolutely nothing, zero,” said Tony Austin, head of security.
No injuries were reported and no arrests were made, police said.
