New York – The upcoming JA New York Fall Show, scheduled for 29-31 October at the Javits Center, will feature pop-up educational sessions and networking opportunities.
The event will also feature the newly created “Industry Row,” a dedicated area where attendees will find returning organizations such as the Women’s Jewelry Association and the Jewelers Board of Trade, as well as first-time groups such as the Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC), Diamonds Do Good, De Beers Institute of Diamonds, and GCAL.
The new additions are designed to help attendees “fill their suitcases” ahead of the holiday season, while enhancing their business knowledge and relationships, the show said.
“Face-to-face events are so important for building and strengthening the relationships that are the foundation of our industry,” said Tobi Smith, global accounts manager for JA New York.
“Our autumn show brings together an outstanding collective of exhibiting designers, manufacturers and brands, retailers and industry influencers for three focused days of shopping, networking and education; these shared experiences are so important to maintaining the vitality of this amazing industry, and we’re thrilled to be spearheading so many important initiatives.”
On Sunday, the educational sessions kick off at 2pm with Ben Guttery of Third Coast Gems discussing best practices for using social media to drive business.
As the pop-up sessions are designed to allow attendees to “pop in and pop out” for flexibility in scheduling, all presentations will be accompanied by happy hours, with the De Beers Institute of Diamonds hosting a wine and beer mixer at 2pm to coincide with Guttery’s presentation.
Following Guttery’s presentation and Q&A, Adrienne Sanogo, GIA Certified Gemologist and BIJC Founding Board Member and Education Chair, will speak at 2:45 pm on how to find and develop quality staff in today’s job market.
On Monday at 2pm, Julia Hackman Chafé, gemstone trader and jewellery content creator at Jewels with Jules, will talk about her journey to social media fame.
To round off the educational sessions, Nancy Orem Lyman and Madison Harvey of Diamonds Do Good will give a presentation on Tuesday at 11am about what it’s like to work in a diamond mine and how diamonds benefit the communities in which they are sourced.
Ahead of the show, on 23 October, Matt Tratner will officially join JA New York as Group Show Director.
He will also be present throughout the event.
