Fabergé is delighted to introduce the Heritage Yellow Gold Diamond & Guilloché Enamel Bee Surprise Locket to its Heritage Collection, with proceeds from the sale supporting the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The Heritage collection celebrates Fabergé’s passion for surprise and showcases complex traditional techniques such as the delicate art of guilloché enamelling and hand engraving.
Fabergé is delighted to collaborate with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation on the launch of this special medallion, and will donate $1,350 for each medallion sold to the Foundation to finance the activities of its Forests and Communities Initiative (FCI), which was launched with renowned partners to support the conservation of forest ecosystems through the action of indigenous peoples and local communities, and the development of a supportive network of actors providing a range of multidisciplinary expertise.
The Heritage Yellow Gold Diamond & Guilloché Enamel Bee Surprise locket is crafted in 18-carat yellow gold and hand-painted with peach-coloured guilloché enamel. The bee itself is hand-painted in black and orange lacquer and sits on a yellow agate base with a subtle honeycomb engraving. The outer case is set with 15 round brilliant-cut white diamonds.
Fabergé was renowned for creating small hard stone animals as charms and ornaments. Art historians have described these creations – Fabergé’s menagerie – as having ‘psychological interpretative aspects’ or human-like qualities. The accentuation of specific characteristics of each subject also gave them a distinctive personality. Fabergé often combined these hard stones with precious metals and coloured gemstones, seamlessly blending them together to create miniature works of art. These precious creations are a perfect example of Fabergé’s signature style.
This creation retails for £10,800/$13,500 .
