The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the apex body for the Indian gem and jewellery trade, inaugurated its second office in Mumbai at Zaveri Bazaar on 1st November. Dr Harshdeep Kamble, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries, Government of Maharashtra, along with Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, Kirit Bhansali, Vice-Chairman, GJEPC, Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC and other distinguished guests graced the occasion.
To serve its members across India – around 9500 members, GJEPC has offices in the major gem and jewellery clusters of India – Surat, Jaipur, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. Zaveri Bazaar is a prominent jewellery hub with over 3000 gem and jewellery manufacturing units, of which around 1300 are GJEPC members and exporters. The new office at Zaveri Bazaar will play a pivotal role in promoting gems and jewellery exports by better serving these manufacturers.
Dr Harshdeep Kamble IAS, Principal Secretary (Industries), Govt. of Maharashtra said, “The new GJEPC office is strategically located in the iconic bazaar to enhance the ease of doing business, which will be a critical factor for all manufacturing and trading units operating in this region. This facility will serve as a hub for industry players and strengthen GJEPC’s position as the apex body of the gems and jewellery industry”.
Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC said, “GJEPC has been consistently working towards creating a more conducive business environment for our industry members. The opening of our new office in the bustling Zaveri Bazaar is a significant step towards improving accessibility and support for local manufacturers. This new facility will serve as a convenient point of contact, ensuring an efficient link between manufacturers and GJEPC.
The expanded office at Zaveri Bazaar will serve as a central hub for members to connect with GJEPC and seek assistance on various matters. The range of services will include

– RCMC/Membership Services
– MSME support
– Liaison with Government Authorities
– Assistance with policy related issues
– Help in establishing links with local administration, including GST, police and bankers, to help your business flourish.
Kirit Bhansali, Vice Chairman, GJEPC said, “With this new office at Zaveri Bazaar, GJEPC will be readily available to provide assistance in various aspects including MSME support, liaison with government authorities, resolving policy related challenges and more.
