New York-John Hardy has appointed Aida Alvarez as its new Senior Vice President of Revenue in the Americas as the brand continues to grow.
In her new role, Alvarez will oversee John Hardy’s wholesale business and help grow the segment, as well as strengthen its retail, Caribbean and licensing revenue streams.
Alvarez has more than 25 years’ experience in the luxury goods industry, including senior roles at Birks & Mayors, now known as Birks Group, and CD Peacock.
She also spent seven years as Senior Vice President of Roberto Coin.
She will report to John Hardy CEO Jan-Patrick Schmitz, who joined the company in August.
“We are thrilled to welcome Aida to the John Hardy leadership team and to work with her to drive our growth in the retail and wholesale channels,” said Schmitz. “She is a true leader in the luxury jewellery industry, with more than 25 years of experience driving sales and profitability for well-known brands and multi-store retailers.”
Alvarez said that throughout her career in luxury jewellery, she has admired the brand’s “rich and unique heritage and commitment to artisanal design”.
Reed Krakoff, former head of design at Tiffany, will join John Hardy as creative chairman in September 2022.
“Earlier this year, I saw a different John Hardy emerge with a new look and design direction that feels both modern and fresh, while continuing to celebrate the brand’s authority in handcrafted jewellery. The excitement for the brand is greater than ever and I’m honoured to join the team as we continue to build and share the reimagined John Hardy,” said Alvarez.
