The Academia World Edu and Book Fair 2023 achieved resounding success, drawing an impressive attendance of nearly 20,000 students and representatives from 32 educational institutions in and around Jaipur. The event featured 70 distinguished speakers across multiple sessions, attracting a substantial number of students eager to participate in the enlightening seminars.
Meenu Brijesh Vyas, Global Head Gemologist at Gemological Science International (GSI) and a venerable figure in the gemological field, took the spotlight at the fair. Ms. Vyas, renowned as a guest speaker at various industry events, generously shared her extensive knowledge and insights with aspiring students. During her presentation, she shed light on the diverse career opportunities within the gemological industry and offered valuable guidance to those considering a career in gemology.
Speaking on behalf of GSI India, Ramit Kapur, Managing Director, emphasized the organization’s commitment to presenting Gemology as a promising career option within the ever-expanding Gems & Jewellery Industry. Kapur stated, “GSI’s goal is to showcase Gemology as a promising career option in the ever-growing Gems & Jewellery Industry to aspiring students who will be looking for various options to choose from. Our mission is to provide high-quality gemological education backed by GSI’s global expertise and presence. GSI intends to train and offer experts to this industry and vice versa.”
Ms. Vyas also highlighted GSI’s “Colored Stone Professional” course during her presentation. This flagship educational program, conducted at GSI’s Jaipur campus, was described as more than just conventional education. Ms. Vyas emphasized how the course provides aspiring gemologists with a comprehensive understanding of gemology, empowering them to embark on a successful and fulfilling career path within the industry. The commitment to quality education and practical expertise underscores GSI’s role in shaping the future of gemologists and contributing to the growth of the Gems & Jewellery Industry.
