MUMBAI, India – January 22, 2024 – Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), a global leader in diamond crafting, has unveiled its inaugural Pure Impact Report, marking a significant stride in the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) practices, corporate social responsibility, and the ambitious pursuit of a net-zero future. The report outlines SRK’s dedication to advancing the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) while emphasizing its multifaceted approach to sustainability, decarbonization, and community welfare through its philanthropic arm, the SRK Knowledge Foundation.
For over six decades, SRK has transcended its role in the diamond industry to actively contribute to societal and environmental well-being. The Pure Impact Report underscores SRK’s long-term vision of achieving zero emissions in India and globally. The company has articulated a comprehensive net-zero roadmap aligned with both the UN SDGs and SBTi. In collaboration with the Global Network for Zero, SRK has committed to obtaining net-zero certification for its flagship diamond crafting facilities, SRK Empire and SRK House, by 2024—six years ahead of the UN’s outlined goals. The company’s strategy includes the establishment of an off-site solar power plant, electrification of its fleet, extensive tree planting initiatives, and more.
Key achievements and initiatives highlighted in the report include:
Contribution of 4.5% average net profit annually to community welfare, benefiting 3.5 million individuals through healthcare initiatives.
Investment of $3.5 million USD in solar projects, including the installation of solar panels for 1,000 employees, donation of 750 rooftop solar panels to veterans, and solarization of the entire Dudhala village with 350 homes.
Attainment of LEED Platinum certification—the highest level of certification—at both SRK House and SRK Empire, ranking among the top five LEED-certified buildings globally for operational performance.
Organization of the 2023 SRK Sustainability Conclave, an inaugural event empowering Indian business leaders to implement effective net-zero strategies.
Educational support provided to over 60,000 students, including 2,500 youth benefitting from services at SRK’s authorized training centers, SRK Institute of Diamonds, and SRK Institute of Skills.
