Rebecca Foerster Assumes Chairmanship of JVC Board of Directors

New York— The Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) has announced its newly appointed board officers for the term spanning 2024-2026, with Rebecca Foerster stepping into the role of board chair.amethyst ring

Rebecca Foerster, currently serving as the President of Hearts On Fire North America since May 2022, brings a wealth of experience to the position. Her previous roles include the presidency of Alrosa North America until March 2022 and senior leadership positions at Leo Schachter Diamonds, Rio Tinto’s U.S. office, and Frederick Goldman. Foerster also held the presidency of Diamonds Do Good (DDG) for four years and currently holds a position on the DDG executive committee as the head of global partnerships.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Foerster stated, “I am extremely honored and excited about my new role with the Jewelers Vigilance Committee. The importance of this organization and the role it plays to support every part of our supply chain to make sure we are aware of significant issues and changes, to protect us and make sure we are compliant with ever-changing rules and legislation, has never been more relevant than today.”

Joining Foerster on the board are esteemed officers including past Chair Jenny Luker, President of Platinum Guild International USA; First Vice President Julie Yoakum, President and Chief Brand Merchant at Helzberg Diamonds; Second Vice President Michael Richards, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Underwood Jewelers in Jacksonville, Florida; Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair Mark Goldberg, Chief Financial Officer of Rolex Watch USA; and Secretary and Legal Action Committee Chair Lisa Wong Lackland, General Counsel at Ben Bridge Jeweler.

JVC has also recently disclosed that the recipient of the 2024 Stanley Schechter Award is Matt G. Stuller Sr., the Founder, Chairperson, and CEO of Stuller Inc. The award, presented annually, is conferred upon an individual exemplifying exceptional industry ethics.

Acknowledging Stuller’s visionary leadership spanning over five decades, JVC highlights his unwavering commitment to integrity and philanthropic initiatives such as The Stuller Family Foundation, Parish Proud, and Love Our Schools. JVC is set to honor Stuller at its annual luncheon on Friday, March 8, at the Intercontinental Barclay hotel in New York, commencing with a networking/cocktail hour at noon.
