Las Vegas—Following the success of its inaugural natural pearl auction in June 2023 held in Dubai and Bahrain, Rapaport has disclosed plans for another auction of natural pearls.
The forthcoming event will showcase approximately 340 lots of natural pearls, encompassing a diverse array of shapes, sizes, and colors.
Certified by the Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) as naturally formed without human intervention, these pearls originate directly from Bahraini divers. Rapaport emphasizes that these divers operate under stringent government oversight to safeguard the natural ecosystem and ensure environmental sustainability.
Martin Rapaport, Chairman of the Rapaport Group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with DANAT, stating, “Rapaport, in an exclusive relationship with DANAT, the Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones, is creating a new market for certified natural pearls that are environmentally and socially responsible. We are delighted to have this opportunity to offer natural pearls direct from the divers of Bahrain to the jewelry trade.”
Echoing this sentiment, DANAT CEO Noora Jamsheer remarked, “We look forward to developing the natural pearl market with the international Rapaport Group. This new initiative will provide Bahraini divers with direct access to the global jewelry industry.”
Interested buyers will have the opportunity to view the pearls in person during scheduled viewings in New York from February 23 to 27 and in Bahrain from March 4 to 8. Additionally, online viewings will be available throughout this period. Catalogs and bid forms can be requested for participation.
Bidding for the auction will close on March 8 at 11 a.m. EST, with winners being promptly notified thereafter.
