Zachary’s Jewelers, based in Annapolis, Maryland, is once again spreading joy this Mother’s Day with its annual Mother’s Day jewelry design contest tailored for children.
The contest, now a cherished tradition for Zachary’s Jewelers, invites fifth graders to unleash their creativity by submitting a drawing of a jewelry piece they envision crafting for their mother or caregiver. Encouraging vibrant expression, participants are urged to illustrate their design in color, providing detailed labels for the various components and materials, such as sterling silver or white gold.
Accompanying their artistic rendering, entrants are asked to share a brief narrative explaining how their design reflects the essence of their beloved mom or caregiver.
Submissions are accepted exclusively online and will be received until March 31st, with each child limited to a single entry.
A panel of judges from Zachary’s will meticulously review the submissions and announce the finalists by April 10th. To celebrate the creativity and imagination of the young designers, Zachary’s will host a special brunch for the finalists at its downtown Annapolis location on May 5th.
From the pool of entries, three outstanding designs will be chosen as winners. These designs will be brought to life by Zachary’s skilled artisans and transformed into tangible pieces of jewelry just in time for Mother’s Day, celebrated on May 12th.
In addition to commemorating the winners’ creativity, Zachary’s Jewelers is committed to supporting arts education. As part of its philanthropic efforts, the jeweler will make donations to the art departments of the schools attended by the winning children, further nurturing artistic expression and creativity within the community.
