Sodiam, the Angolan national diamond trading company, is set to conduct an online rough diamond tender in collaboration with Trans Atlantic Gem Sales on April 19.
Luanda, Angola – Sodiam, in collaboration with Trans Atlantic Gem Sales, will facilitate an online rough diamond tender slated for April 19, marking an important event in the diamond industry calendar.
Previews for interested parties will be available from April 11 to 18 at Sodiam’s office in Luanda, Angola.
The tender exclusively targets Sodiam-registered customers with proven expertise in diamonds. The lots to be tendered consist of 18 diamonds weighing over 10.8 carats each, including three rare pink diamonds.
This marks the ninth tender organized by Sodiam, with previous tenders boasting a collective revenue of $211 million. The assortment on offer originates from 17 kimberlite and alluvial production operations, encompassing a wide spectrum of qualities in terms of size, model, purity, and color.
In the preceding year, Sodiam exported 9.9 million rough carats, fetching a total value of $1.5 billion, averaging $158 per carat. This reinforces Angola’s position as the world’s third-largest diamond producer in terms of value.
The online tender underscores Sodiam’s commitment to facilitating transparent and efficient diamond trading, further solidifying its pivotal role in the global diamond market.
