GIA India recently hosted a momentous graduation ceremony for students of jewelry design, an event graced by esteemed guests including Devinder Layal, Head of New Product Development at B. N. Jewellers India Pvt. Ltd., who honored the occasion as the chief guest. Also in attendance was Apoorva Deshingkar, Senior Director of Education and Market Development at GIA India.
The ceremony commenced with an engaging interactive session led by Devinder Layal, focusing on “Product and Product Development.” Layal emphasized the crucial role of product development within the jewelry industry and commended the students for their dedication and successful completion of the program. He underscored the significance of quality education from reputable institutes like GIA in enhancing the gem and jewelry sector to meet international standards.
Addressing the gathering, Apoorva Deshingkar expressed confidence in the students’ capabilities, stating, “Equipped with GIA credentials and inspired by Devinder-ji’s words, our students are poised to make their mark in the gem and jewelry industry.”
Among the graduates, Niran Shah, a GIA Jewelry Design Graduate, shared his personal journey, transitioning from a family background in shipping to a passion for haute couture jewelry. He credited GIA’s Applied Jewelry Professional and Graduate Diamond Diploma Programs in Dubai for bolstering his confidence and expertise in the field.
Another graduate, Shweta Arora, reflected on her decision to pursue a career in jewelry design after two decades of exploration in various fields. Enrolling in the GIA Jewelry Design Program, she found her experience exceeded expectations, igniting a newfound enthusiasm to embark on her professional journey as a jewelry designer.
The graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone for the students and served as a testament to GIA’s commitment to nurturing talent and excellence in the gem and jewelry industry.
