Garrett Allen Dorsher, aged 28, faced charges on Thursday, April 18, including felony 2nd-degree burglary, theft, and 1st-degree damage to property, following an incident at a jewelry store.
According to court documents, authorities responded to a break-in at approximately 1:46 a.m. on April 14. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the front doors of the store had been forcibly entered, with a jewelry case shattered and blood present on the broken case and an adjacent intact one.
The suspect left behind a trail of “numerous bracelets and earrings” as he fled the scene. Police retrieved approximately $8,200 worth of jewelry from both the interior floor and exterior ground, as per court records.
Security footage captured the perpetrator breaking the front door, vandalizing one jewelry case, and attempting to breach another before making his escape, according to court documents.
The store manager reported a suspicious individual who had visited the store on the preceding Saturday, describing a man with a ponytail and distinctive razor lines cut into the hair on the side of his head. Police observed that the suspect’s hairstyle in the footage matched this description.
On Wednesday, April 17, law enforcement arrested Dorsher at approximately 3:05 p.m. after he allegedly attempted to sell jewelry to patrons at a local tattoo shop. Authorities seized around $2,600 worth of jewelry from Dorsher, purportedly confirming that the items he sought to sell matched those reported missing from Lasker jewelry inventory.
Dorsher is scheduled to appear in court next on May 1 for further proceedings.
