New York—Platinum Guild International (PGI) has unveiled the lineup of 11 designers set to participate in its highly anticipated third annual Couture Platinum Spotlight Program.
In preparation for the upcoming jewelry trade show next month, PGI has once again enlisted renowned gold-focused designers to craft exquisite pieces in platinum for its exclusive capsule collection.
Four fresh faces will debut in the program this year: Mike Joseph, Renato Cipullo, Selim Mouzannar, and Single Stone. They will be joined by seven esteemed “alumni” designers: Beck, Harwell Godfrey, Jade Ruzzo, Retrouvaí, Sorellina, Ten Thousand Things, and Walters Faith.
Gannon Brousseau, director of Couture and executive vice president of Emerald, highlighted the bold creativity shared by Couture’s designers and brands. “The designers participating in the Couture Platinum Spotlight program have embraced the challenge of working with a new metal, leveraging platinum’s unique properties to enhance their distinctive designs,” Brousseau noted.
This year’s collection promises a diverse range of pieces, spanning from statement earrings to elegant cocktail rings. While designers were mandated to incorporate platinum into their creations, some opted to reimagine their signature pieces, while others unveiled entirely new designs, PGI revealed.
The Couture Platinum Spotlight Program aims to elevate awareness of platinum’s significance, aligning with PGI’s overarching mission.
“Platinum’s allure among jewelry designers, particularly in fashion-forward pieces, has steadily risen in recent years,” remarked Jenny Luker, president of PGI USA. “The participation of non-bridal designers in this program underscores the importance of introducing platinum to consumers earlier in their jewelry journey, contributing to its ongoing growth.”
Attendees can admire the exquisite platinum pieces firsthand at the designers’ individual salons and villas during The Couture show, scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 2 at the Wynn Las Vegas.
