RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT)— Paul Goldman’s lawsuit against Richmond leaders will be heard by a judge on Thursday.
Goldman initiated the lawsuit following the City Council’s approval of $170 million for the Diamond District project, which includes plans for a new baseball stadium. He argues that the approval should have required a vote from residents, claiming the city violated the state constitution, the Richmond City Charter, and the First Amendment.
A judge is scheduled to hear the case on Thursday.
