On Monday, Fashion Group International (FGI) held its annual Rising Star Awards event, celebrating excellence across various fashion sectors. Jared was honored with the award in the fine jewelry category for its second edition of the Atelier collection, a high jewelry collaboration with Shy Dayan of Shy Creation. The other finalists in this category were Ivar by Ritika Ravi and Jaune Pearls, with nominees selected for their creativity and innovation.
Accepting the award, Jared president Claudia Cividino remarked, “What inspires us at Jared is to make beauty accessible. This year marks our 30th anniversary, proving that you can be a rising star at any age.” She was joined by Kathy Dayan, creative director of Shy Creation, who shared their inspiration behind the Atelier collection. “We were inspired to create a holiday collection of high fashion jewelry, which we call Atelier. The creativity of the jewelry took our breath away, and some pieces have even graced red carpets, including the recent Met Gala,” said Cividino.
Dayan added, “Our inspiration is the female, forever and always. We believe that when a woman feels comfortable, safe, and beautiful in her own skin, she’s capable of anything. Here’s to all the women in the room and all the men who support us.”
Shy Creation founder and chief designer Shy Dayan expressed his excitement in an email to JCK, stating, “It was exciting to get back to my roots and create one-of-a-kind pieces with unique gemstones. I am honored to receive this award along with Jared. Our collaboration on Atelier was natural, driven by a passion for rare and unique gemstones.”
Cividino, who joined Jared in January 2023 from Loro Piana, has been leveraging her luxury market expertise to differentiate the brand with high-caliber, competitively priced jewelry offerings. Jared’s vice president of merchandising, Ann Grimmett, discussed the brand’s move into high jewelry with JCK editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky last November, highlighting plans to attract clients accustomed to elite jewelers like Cartier and Tiffany & Co. The FGI award suggests that embracing luxury, with pieces featuring exquisite emeralds and yellow diamonds, was the right strategy.
The Dayan family, including Kathy and Shy, will be showcasing the latest Shy Creation jewels from May 29 to June 3 in Las Vegas at Luxury by JCK, Titian Ballroom booth #2304-03.
