After 35 years in the fine jewelry business, David Mann of David Mann Jewelers has announced his retirement. David Mann Jewelers, a cherished local store with a history spanning over 70 years, has been a fixture in Geneseo. David Mann, who initially worked in the food industry, began assisting at his in-laws’ jewelry store on weekends. After his father-in-law retired, Mann purchased the store in 1989, renaming it David Mann Jewelers. Under his leadership, the store gained a reputation for its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to fair, honest, and friendly customer service.
Throughout the years, David Mann Jewelers has played an integral role in the community, providing fine jewelry for special occasions and participating in local organizations such as the Geneseo Rotary Club and Main Street Merchants Association. Mann is also a long-time member of the Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO) and the Retail Jewelers Organization (RJO).
Reflecting on his career, Mann expressed his gratitude: “It’s been a pleasure to serve such terrific, caring, and kind people. The jewelry business is about celebration and making people feel good, and I’m very fortunate to have been part of that for my customers and their families for so many years.”
In retirement, Mann plans to travel with his wife, Denise, and spend time with family, including their two children, granddaughter, and his mother-in-law, who remains interested in the store she and her husband founded.
