Rome— On Monday night, Bulgari marked its 140th anniversary with a grand celebration at the historic Baths of Diocletian. The Italian jewelry brand unveiled its new high jewelry collection, Aeterna, in a spectacular fashion show featuring legendary models Isabella Rossellini and Carla Bruni. The event, set amidst the ruins of Rome’s largest ancient baths, honored Bulgari’s rich history and its enduring connection to the Eternal City, which has long inspired some of its most iconic designs. Aeterna, Latin for “eternal,” symbolizes the timeless nature of both the brand and Rome.
Creative Director Lucia Silvestri expressed the significance of the event, stating, “It was fundamental for me to do something special, something as eternal as Bulgari and as eternal as Rome.”
The front row boasted notable celebrities such as Anne Hathaway and Priyanka Chopra. Chopra dazzled in the 140-carat Serpenti Aeterna necklace, created specifically to commemorate the milestone. This exquisite piece, which took over 2,800 hours to craft, is described by Silvestri as “the most precious necklace we ever crafted.”
Isabella Rossellini closed the show, wearing the Augustus Aeternus Emerald Monete Sautoir. This stunning piece features an ancient bronze coin minted between 14 and 37 A.D., depicting Emperor Augustus, and is strung on 149 remarkable emerald beads.
“We have worked tirelessly to create what we believe to be the most extraordinary high jewelry collection ever,” Silvestri remarked. “Through the combination of boundless creativity and high-end craftsmanship, we celebrate Bulgari’s ability to keep reinventing itself.”
