Britney Spears has alleged that her jewelry was stolen from her home, making her the latest celebrity to face such an incident. In a video posted on Instagram, the “Toxic” singer, 42, showed her nearly empty jewelry box, stating, “You guys, for real, all my jewelry was stolen. See? There’s nothing. Well, there’s a Mother Mary. … I’m scared. It’s all gone. All my jewelry is gone.”
In her caption, Spears reiterated, “So you can see for real all my jewelry was stolen … it’s hard to buy new now because I’m scared it will go missing.” She revealed that she now resorts to buying “cheap and fake” jewelry as a precaution, though she lamented the loss of her valuable items, some of which were custom-made for her. “My baby cross that I wore since I was 4 is gone … it’s so thin,” she added.
Despite Spears’ claims, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told Page Six that they have not received any theft reports from Spears’ residence. Spears’ representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Following the alleged burglary, Spears posted two videos on social media where she appeared in good spirits, mentioning in one that she had “dropped 12 sizes” and expressing in another her desire for a tongue piercing.
This incident is not the first time Spears has suspected a robbery. In August 2021, she reported a theft at her Thousand Oaks, California mansion, though she later decided not to file a report.
Concerns have been raised about Spears’ financial management following the end of her conservatorship. Sources close to her claim she has been spending her $60 million fortune recklessly. “She has no concept of money,” an insider told Page Six, explaining that for over a decade, her finances were controlled by others.
Additionally, Spears’ friends have expressed worries about her relationship with boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz, who has a criminal history.
