New York— Phillips is set to host its New York Jewels auction, featuring a standout fancy vivid yellow diamond estimated to sell for between $2.8 million and $3.5 million. Weighing over 45 carats, the diamond boasts unique step-cut faceting.
The auction, which includes 125 lots, will take place at Phillips’ Manhattan headquarters at 432 Park Ave. The sale will showcase an impressive array of colored diamonds, gemstones, period jewelry, and pieces from prestigious brands such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, and Bulgari.
“We are excited to present such a strong offering in our upcoming New York sale, following our second successful season in Geneva,” said Eva Violante, Phillips’ head of jewels in the Americas. “There has been a clear demand for exceptional jewels and gemstones that span the century, evidenced by the strong results in both Geneva and Hong Kong, as well as the enthusiasm we have seen across the globe during our international tour. From a significant 45-carat yellow diamond to a Cartier ‘Méandres-Bavoir’ diamond necklace from 1953, we are proud to offer our collectors such a magnificent array of jewels that embody the very best the category has to offer.”
Among other high-value items in the auction are a 4-carat fancy intense green diamond, estimated to sell for up to $350,000, and a striking Cartier diamond ring featuring a 3.07-carat light blue pear-shaped center stone, expected to achieve between $200,000 and $300,000.
