Saint-Tropez—Louis Vuitton has chosen the picturesque locale of Saint-Tropez to unveil its most extensive high jewelry collection to date, “Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds.” Conceived by Francesca Amfitheatrof, the Artistic Director for Watches and Jewelry, this collection pays homage to France’s transformative 19th century—a period marked by creativity and innovation that coincided with Louis Vuitton’s early days as an apprentice in Paris.
The collection features 220 unique pieces showcasing Louis Vuitton’s commitment to exquisite craftsmanship and rare, precious stones. Highlights include phosphorescent Mozambican rubies, a 12-carat Zambian emerald, and sapphires from Kashmir, Sri Lanka, and Madagascar. The centerpiece of the collection is the Coeur de Paris (Heart of Paris) diamond, a 56.23-carat intense pink diamond, regarded as the collection’s most significant and rarest gem.
The craftsmanship behind these creations is equally impressive. The Splendeur collar, one of the collection’s most intricate pieces, required the expertise of 17 setters and 30 jewelers, involving over 2,400 individually mounted elements and a total of 3,217 hours of work.
The unveiling took place in a private chateau overlooking the Mediterranean, surrounded by serene gardens of pine trees, providing guests with an idyllic setting to admire these extraordinary pieces.
“‘Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds’ tells a story that’s very close to who we are,” says Amfitheatrof. “By showcasing this blend of craftsmanship, engineering, invention, and bravery, we are truly reflecting the essence of Louis Vuitton. This collection epitomizes French luxury, the Art de Vivre, and we couldn’t celebrate it in a better way.”
