Cartier is poised to introduce a fresh take on its iconic Tutti Frutti line with a new collection titled “Tutti Tutti,” set to launch on September 1. This collection is a product of Cartier Libre, the brand’s division dedicated to creating innovative and avant-garde jewelry, watches, and accessories, known for pushing the boundaries of design.
The original Tutti Frutti collection, celebrated for its vibrant and daring use of colorful gemstones, drew inspiration from the rich, gem-laden jewelry traditions of India. The pieces in this collection are distinguished by their brilliant combinations of sapphires, rubies, and emeralds, which are often intricately carved into shapes like leaves, buds, and berries, or cut into smooth cabochons and fluted beads.
The upcoming Tutti Tutti collection carries forward this tradition of vibrant color but with a modern twist. The jewels in this new line are more abstract, showcasing a contemporary aesthetic. The designs feature bold color contrasts, unexpected shapes, and a blend of soft, flowing lines with striking volumes. While nature remains a subtle influence, the collection takes a broader, more imaginative approach to this classic theme.
For instance, one standout piece is a bracelet adorned with smoothly paved sapphires in pastel hues, creating a gentle and elegant pattern. The collection also includes rings with playful pendants that catch the light and shimmer with every movement. These rings are embellished with diamonds and onyx, arranged in a striking color palette of black, green, and white—a combination that has been a hallmark of Cartier’s designs since the early 20th century.
One particular ring design features a central gemstone cut in a melon shape, showcasing ribbed grooves and an engraved texture. This gemstone, available in either amethyst or chrysoprase, is topped with yellow gold and crowned with a pyramid-shaped diamond. The ring’s band is crafted from ribbed 18k yellow gold, perfectly complementing the stone’s intricate design. Additionally, the collection includes an all-gold torque bracelet, distinguished by a grooved bezel with alternating diamonds and onyx, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication.
Cartier’s Tutti Tutti collection promises to be a vibrant and modern celebration of the brand’s legacy, offering pieces that blend timeless elegance with contemporary flair.
