Fuli Gemstones, a leading peridot miner based in China, is proud to introduce its latest creation: the “Beidou Cut.” This new gemstone cut is a dazzling tribute to the stars, drawing inspiration from the Big Dipper constellation, known in ancient Chinese astronomy as “Beidou.”
The Big Dipper, part of the Ursa Major constellation, has historically been crucial for celestial navigation, guiding explorers to the North Star. The “Beidou Cut” pays homage to this stellar guide with its unique design. This innovative cut features a seven-sided structure, reflecting the seven brightest stars that form the Big Dipper asterism.
The “Beidou Cut” is distinguished by its intricate arrangement of 85 facets: 28 on the crown (the top portion of the gemstone) and 49 on the pavilion (the lower portion). Additionally, the cut includes a girdle with seven facets and a meticulously crafted table, enhancing the stone’s brilliance and complexity.
Pia Tonna, Executive Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Fuli Gemstones, expressed her excitement about the new cut: “At Fuli Gemstones, pushing the boundaries of gemstone design is in our DNA. We are always striving to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the market, and the ‘Beidou Cut’ is a perfect example of our commitment to novelty and excellence.”
The new “Beidou Cut” will be showcased at the upcoming Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong show, scheduled for September 16-20 at AsiaWorld-Expo. Visitors can view this cutting-edge design at Fuli Gemstones’ booth LO6 in Hall 10 of the ICA Pavilion.
