Louis Vuitton Unveils Le Damier Jewelry Collection And New Headquarters

Louis Vuitton has introduced its latest jewelry line, Le Damier, inspired by the brand’s iconic monogram. This launch took place in a recently acquired historic building, set to become the headquarters for its fine jewelry division.

Crafted in yellow and white gold, the Damier collection features a stunning array of pieces, including three bracelets, six rings, earrings, and pendants. Each item showcases the brand’s signature geometric pattern, reminiscent of its classic brown canvas.

Francesca Amfitheatrof, Vuitton’s artistic director for watches and jewelry, noted the collection’s inception: “We developed one Damier ring a year ago and people went crazy for it. It was only natural to expand into a full collection. Sometimes the wisest decisions are right in front of your eyes,” she remarked with a light-hearted chuckle.

The collection’s bracelets and rings reflect a checkerboard design, meticulously crafted to be slim and lightweight, almost like a snake gracefully wrapping around the wrist. Amfitheatrof emphasized the complexity behind their effortless appearance, stating, “Sometimes, an object that seems effortless is the very hardest to produce. That smoothness did happen easily.”

Starting from October 18, the collection will be available worldwide, both in-store and online. Pricing details reveal rings range from €4,400 for a 3.5mm version to €12,700 for a 9mm variant, while bracelets are priced between €14,900 and €31,000. Additionally, the pendant is available for €6,400 and the earrings for €11,000.

The unveiling occurred under a grand glass roof inside the Hotel Soltykoff, a late 19th-century mansion formerly owned by a Russian imperial prince. This location, situated just a stone’s throw from the prestigious Place Vendôme, is set to undergo renovations. Its marble landings, ornate pilasters, and Regency design elements promise an elegant new home for Louis Vuitton’s burgeoning jewelry business.

Reflecting on the rapid growth of the brand’s jewelry sector, Amfitheatrof quipped, “The thing is our jewelry business has been growing so fast, we’ve outgrown this space before we even moved in.” With this exciting launch, Louis Vuitton reaffirms its commitment to luxury and innovation in the realm of fashion jewelry.
