A stunning 16.07-carat fancy-yellow diamond ring led the sales at Heritage Auctions’ Fall Fine Jewelry Signature Auction, selling for $337,500.
The radiant-cut yellow diamond, accompanied by 2.65 carats of shield-shaped diamonds on either side, significantly surpassed its presale estimate by more than $110,000, according to the Dallas-based auction house. The event, held on September 30, saw heightened interest from bidders, particularly for diamonds and colored gemstones, pushing the total sales beyond $5 million.
“Overall, we were very pleased with the auction results,” said Jill Burgum, executive director of fine jewelry at Heritage Auctions. “Diamonds and fine colored gemstones performed exceptionally well. The involvement of various charitable organizations added a positive, feel-good atmosphere to the event.”
