Vicenzaoro, the iconic jewelry trade fair, is set to unite over 100 countries of industry professionals this January 17-21, 2025, for a five-day event under the theme Crafting The Future. As Europe’s largest and most prestigious trade show dedicated to jewelry, goldsmithing, and watches, Vicenzaoro is positioned as a pivotal force shaping the jewelry industry of tomorrow. The event promises not only a platform for the best in fine jewelry and high-end timepieces but also for innovation, education, and sustainability.
The 71st edition of Vicenzaoro will feature thousands of exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge designs and technical innovations. Attendees can explore fine jewelry, high jewelry, and timepieces from leading global brands. Simultaneously, the T. Gold exhibition will highlight 170 companies from 16 countries, offering a glimpse into the latest advancements in jewelry technology. As a global hub for jewelry manufacturing, T. Gold is dedicated to pioneering sustainable practices and responsible innovation in an ever-evolving market.
The spotlight this year also shines on educating the next generation of jewelry artisans. With increasing automation and the rise of digital tools, Italy’s traditional artisan ranks have been thinning, making it more urgent than ever to nurture new talent in jewelry design and craftsmanship. Vicenzaoro is rising to the challenge with 21 events dedicated to engaging, training, and empowering Generation Z.
This year’s Vicenzaoro not only focuses on showcasing jewelry but also on training young professionals and offering them a clear path into the industry. Collaborating with industry leaders and international associations, the event will offer over 30 hours of dedicated seminars, talks, and hands-on experiences aimed at equipping the next generation of jewelry designers, manufacturers, and marketers.
“We want to involve young people in the jewelry industry by introducing them to training and career opportunities that could shape their futures,” said Matteo Farsura, IEG’s Global Exhibition Manager for Jewellery & Fashion. This commitment to youth empowerment is part of a broader effort to secure the future of Italy’s jewelry industry, which continues to see high demand for “Made in Italy” creations.
Amid the rise of mass-produced fashion jewelry, preserving traditional jewelry-making skills has become a pressing concern. As Valery Demure, a renowned consultant in the jewelry industry, points out, artisanal traditions are disappearing globally due to economic pressures and the dominance of low-cost alternatives. Vicenzaoro is addressing this crisis by championing independent jewelers and promoting sustainability through its events and exhibits.
As part of its commitment to preserving Italy’s jewelry heritage, Vicenzaoro will host discussions on the importance of maintaining artisanal practices in a digital world. With experts like Professor Simon Fraser of Central St. Martins University of the Arts London, attendees will explore how to safeguard the future of jewelry craftsmanship, ensuring that these invaluable skills are passed on to future generations.
