De Beers Jewellers, the renowned luxury jewelry house, introduces the first chapter of its new high jewelry collection, Essence of Nature. This exquisite collection is a tribute to the profound beauty and symbolism of trees, capturing their enduring presence and strength as a muse.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding nature of the company’s diamond mines, Essence of Nature intricately weaves together rough and polished diamonds in shades of green, yellow, and white, set in 18-karat white and yellow gold. The collection’s diamonds evoke the grandeur of ancient woodlands, from the deep roots beneath the earth to the towering canopies that stretch toward the heavens.
The Essence of Nature collection includes three distinct sub-collections, each inspired by different elements of the tree. The Embrace earrings, for instance, are designed to mimic the delicate water droplets resting on the leaves of a tree. These stunning earrings feature two 1.51-carat pear-shaped white diamonds, complemented by rough green and polished white diamonds.
For the first time, De Beers Jewellers uses jet—fossilized wood from the Jurassic period—within the Embrace sub-collection, which includes earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, and a ring. The rough green diamonds are organically shaped to represent foliage, while the polished white diamonds evoke dewdrops that grace the leaves at dawn.
The Interlace necklace embodies the mystery of tree roots, capturing their fluidity and grace through diamond-set white gold that curves and intertwines. The piece features a stunning 4.12-carat cushion-cut fancy yellow diamond at its center, flanked by five rough yellow diamonds that represent dewdrops. This sub-collection explores the foundation of beauty—symbolizing the importance of roots as the starting point for the magnificence that follows.
With a mix of asymmetry and fluidity, the Interlace collection also includes earrings, bracelets, ear cuffs, and rings, each echoing the symbolism of growth and connection.
The final sub-collection, Foundation, draws inspiration from the lush canopies of ancient forests. The three-stone Foundation ring features a striking 2.15-carat fancy yellow-green diamond at the center, set alongside brilliant-cut white diamonds, symbolizing the resilience and power of trees. The collection’s earrings take the form of tree trunks, while a necklace showcasing a 3.02-carat oval-shaped fancy deep grayish yellowish green diamond celebrates the cyclical nature of growth and renewal.
