Lynn Ban, the celebrated jewelry designer and cast member of Netflix’s Bling Empire: New York, has tragically passed away at the age of 51. Her death comes just weeks after she sustained injuries in a Christmas Eve skiing accident in Aspen, Colorado, which led to brain surgery.
Sebastian Ban, her son, shared the heartbreaking news via her verified Instagram account, revealing that she passed away on Monday. In his post, he expressed, “I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her. Many of you followed my mum but never got the chance to know her or meet her in person. She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me, and someone who cared for all. She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know.”
A native of Singapore, Lynn Ban made her mark on Bling Empire: New York in 2023, where she was featured alongside other wealthy Asian Americans living in New York City. Beyond reality television, Ban had an illustrious 25-year career in the fashion industry. Her jewelry brand, Lynn Ban Jewelry, served a private clientele and earned recognition in top fashion publications. Celebrities such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Madonna, and Lady Gaga were often seen wearing her bold creations.
Widely regarded as an authority in the fashion world, Ban’s expertise spanned product design, marketing, retail merchandising, and artistic direction, where she worked closely with designers on their collections.
Her contributions to the fashion industry and the world of high-end jewelry will be deeply missed.
