Discover The Art Of Navajo Weaving At The 3rd Annual Rug & Jewelry Show In Scottsdale

The Holland Center in Scottsdale is set to host the highly anticipated Third Annual Navajo Rug & Jewelry Show & Sale from February 21-23, offering a unique opportunity to explore and support Native American culture through exquisite handmade art. Featuring over 300 handwoven Navajo rugs, jewelry, and crafts, the event benefits the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program and provides a platform for Navajo weavers to showcase their craft.

The weekend event will begin with an exclusive VIP preview on Friday, February 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees will enjoy early access to the show, where they can purchase one-of-a-kind items, watch live weaving demonstrations, and interact with the artists themselves. VIP tickets are available for $50, which includes a raffle ticket for a chance to win a handwoven rug.

The public portion of the event will be held on Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission. The show will feature the work of 70 talented Navajo weavers, with each artist setting their own prices and retaining 100% of the proceeds from their sales.

This year’s featured weaver is Rena Robertson, a master artisan who learned the craft of weaving from her mother. With over 30 years of experience, Robertson creates stunning works of art using natural dyes and hand-spun yarn. She and her family are dedicated to preserving the traditional art of Navajo weaving, a heritage that has been passed down through generations. “Weaving is our legacy and personal identity as Dine’,” Robertson shared. “I am grateful to the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program for helping us keep our traditions alive.”

The Holland Center’s partnership with the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program has grown since its inaugural event in 2023, attracting over 1,700 attendees last year. The program helps provide essential services such as food, medical supplies, and firewood to Navajo elders living on reservations across Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico.
