Chopard, renowned for its exquisite jewelry and watchmaking, has unveiled the Insofu Collection, a breathtaking 15-piece high jewelry line crafted from a single, extraordinary 6,225-carat emerald.
This masterpiece collection not only showcases the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship but also honors the natural beauty of the gemstone, while supporting a noble cause.
The Insofu emerald, named for its resemblance to an elephant in the local Bemba language, was discovered in Zambia’s Kagem mine.
Acquired by Chopard in 2018, this colossal gemstone presented a unique challenge due to its size and the fragility of emeralds.
To unlock its full potential, Chopard enlisted the expertise of skilled gem cutters from India, who worked meticulously in Geneva to yield 850 carats of gem-quality emeralds over nearly a year.
The Insofu Collection is a testament to Chopard’s artistic vision and commitment to craftsmanship. It features an array of stunning pieces, including Art Deco-inspired chokers, flowing necklaces that evoke the Jazz Age, and a striking elephant-shaped pendant adorned with over 50 emeralds and diamonds.
This pendant, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune, can be worn as both a necklace and a brooch.
In line with Chopard’s dedication to sustainability and conservation, the Insofu Collection is launched in collaboration with Elephant Family, a wildlife conservation charity.
A portion of the proceeds from each piece sold will support Elephant Family’s efforts to mitigate human-elephant conflict and promote coexistence.
